Why was London calling me?
In London, was I surrounded by idiots? No way! We just bought this book when coming back home.
Once upon a time, London was calling me.

I’ve never been to London. However, I was thinking I should visit this city. Definitely. But why? Don’t know yet. I was wondering what could I expect in London?
Politeness? Nowhere in the world, I’ve seen the word “please” added to the word “push” on the door. The politeness in London could be on a whole new level if the words “please push” were added on the toilettes as well. Yes, such nice people those Brits are, aren’t they?
Red telephone booths? How cute but did I reach someone from this booth successfully? Of course, I didn’t. Or did I?
Red buses? Well, the iconic red double-decker buses were literally everywhere. Imagine what did the first London bus look like? It was horse-drawn double-decker omnibus introduced in England in 1847. Of course, we are 21st century. So, I wasn’t riding a horse, I wasn’t taking the horse-drawn double‑decker, was I?
Fish and chips? Yes, I was searching desperately for the place where I could taste traditional fish and chips. Did I find such restaurant? Firstly, we had the opportunity to have dinner in some Indian restaurant, somewhere nowhere in London. I must admit that this was the best opportunity I’ve ever had. When the chef liked you, every time you ordered something, he commented it by words „excellent choice“. And when he didn’t like you? Bad for you! But we had a nice time, we were sharing every food we had on our table, and at the end, this Indian food was quite „excellent choice“. Sorry, fish and chips? Did I taste it? Yes, finally yes! And where was it? In some traditional English pub, not so far from Sherlock Holmes’s place. And how was it? Delicious! And what was next? In the morning, “Fifty Shades of Earl Grey.”
What about weather? Well, there is nothing surprising about the cloudy and a bit rainy weather… A bit rainy weather? Are you kidding me? Maybe, you are not but the weather was kidding me! Firstly, the sunshine. Then, the rain. So, I was supposed to take an umbrella. After, the sunshine. So, I was supposed no to take an umbrella. Finally, the rain. The sunshine, again. The rain, again. And again, and again. I am not a “Rain Man”, aren’t I?
So, we really enjoyed the showers of London. And what should we do in this weather? Pub crawl? It appeared like people in London did take the pub experience seriously, as all pubs were overcrowded and there were people even standing outside when it was cold. And what about us? We didn’t take the pub crawls so seriously, did we?
Yes, we did! Because “it’s always pub o’clock in London”. And that’s why I put the questions at the end of each paragraph. I spent 2-3 days in London with friends of mine. But to be honest, we were drinking (so) much that I don’t remember everything. Thanks God! What did my hangover remind me of? Grab a drink – take a cab – grab a drink – take a cab. It was like some of those nights you could spend in the bar named Coyote Ugly (yes, like the movie, because this bar resembles the one in this movie) – but we didn’t there, did we?
However, I am pretty sure about these things:
London is worth to visit! I had time of my life in this city. To be correct – one of the best Thames in my life.
And I was not surrounded by idiots. I was surrounded by my friends!
At the end – “All you need is love and a vacation in London.”.
But why was London calling me? Well, so that I can read the book finally!
